We are pleased to announce the formation of a new parish serving the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia area, Holy Ascension Orthodox Church.

Holy Ascension Orthodox Church was founded on May 17, 2007, under the pastorship of Rev. Igor Hrebinka. We remain a parish of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, under the omofor of Bishop Agafangel of Taurida and Odessa. Our ruling bishop is Bishop Andronik (Kotlaroff), the Administrator of the North American Administrative District.

The parish seeks to maintain the traditions of the historic Orthodox Church of Russia, as well as the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, as exemplified by the church’s founding hierarchs: Metropolitans Anthony, Anastassiy, Philaret and Vitaliy.
